Privacy Policy

Overview

ServerNeed is a Bangladesh hosting, domain and digital services company, operating since 2015 under Trade Licence No. 949. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, client portal and services, what we do with it, and what choices you have.

It applies to this website and to your ServerNeed account. It does not apply to other companies' websites you may reach from here — see Third-party services below.

Information we collect

When you create an account, register a domain or purchase a service, we collect the information needed to provide it:

• Account information — your name, email address, phone number and the preferences on your profile.
• Billing information — your billing address and the records of invoices, payments and credit on your account.
• Registrant information — for a domain, the contact details the relevant domain registry requires in order to register it.
• Support content — whatever you write in a ticket, and the service it relates to.
• Technical information — the IP address and browser a request came from, recorded with sign-ins and with actions taken on your account.

We do not ask for, and do not store, your payment card number — see Data security.

How we use information

We use what we collect to run the services you have bought, and for nothing unrelated to them:

• To provision, deliver and support the hosting, domain or server services you have purchased.
• To process payments and send billing notices, invoices and renewal reminders.
• To respond to support requests submitted through your account.
• To meet legal and registry obligations — for example, submitting registrant details to the relevant domain registry, which is a condition of registering a domain at all.
• To send service notices such as maintenance windows and security updates.
• To keep a record of significant actions on an account, so that a question about what happened has an answer.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for marketing.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets two cookies, and both are necessary for it to work at all:

• A session cookie, which is what keeps you signed in. The client portal and the admin panel use separately named cookies so a session on one is never a session on the other.
• A CSRF token cookie, which lets the server tell a form you submitted apart from one another site submitted on your behalf.

There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and no third-party tracking scripts of any kind. We do not build a profile of your browsing, and there is nothing here to opt out of. You can block or clear cookies in your browser; if you block the two above, signing in will not work.

Data sharing

We share the minimum necessary with the parties actually involved in delivering your service:

• Domain registries and registrar partners, which require registrant contact details in order to register or transfer a domain.
• Payment providers, which handle the payment itself and confirm the result back to us.
• Infrastructure and platform providers used to operate the services — see Third-party services.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of ServerNeed, our customers or others.

Data security

Account passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, never in plain text — which also means nobody at ServerNeed can read your password or tell you what it is.

Payment card details are handled by our payment providers and are not stored on ServerNeed's servers. Traffic to the public site, the client portal and the admin panel is encrypted in transit over HTTPS, and a change of password signs out every other session on the account.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If you believe your account has been accessed by someone else, tell us and change your password.

Your rights

You can review and update most of your account information yourself, at any time, from your profile — and see and end your active sessions from the security page.

To request a copy of the information we hold about you, or to ask us to delete personal information we no longer need for legal or billing reasons, contact us. Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your information; tell us what you need and we will say plainly what we can and cannot do.

Some records cannot be deleted on request — see Data retention, which explains which and why.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as you have an account with us, and after that for as long as we need it to meet legal, tax and billing obligations.

Some records are append-only by design and cannot be edited or deleted, by us or by anyone: financial transactions, account credit entries, and the audit record of significant actions. This is enforced by the database itself, not only by our software. It exists so that a dispute about a payment or a change to an account can always be settled from the record, and it means a deletion request cannot remove those entries.

Domain registration data is also retained by the relevant registry under that registry's own rules, which we do not control.

Children's privacy

Our services are intended for businesses and adults, and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13.

If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party services

Our billing, provisioning and support run on a dedicated billing platform that we operate, which is the system of record for your services, invoices and tickets. Your account data is held there and mirrored into this site so that pages load quickly; the billing platform holds the authoritative copy.

Payments are completed by the payment provider you choose at checkout, on their systems and under their terms. Domains are registered through registrar partners and the relevant registry.

Pages on this site may link to websites we do not run. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we would encourage you to read their policies before giving them anything.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it, so you can always tell whether what you agreed to is what is on screen.

Where a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell account holders directly rather than rely on you noticing the date.
