Dedicated Server FAQ
What is a dedicated server?
One physical machine in a datacentre, reserved entirely for you. Nobody else has an account on it and nothing else is competing for its CPU, memory or disk — which is the difference between it and every other product we sell.
Why is there no price on this page?
Because we do not sell fixed dedicated plans. The hardware is chosen for the workload, so the price follows the hardware. Rather than print numbers we would have to revise at the point of order, this page asks you what you need and we answer with current options and real prices. Our VPS plans are priced and orderable now if you would rather not wait.
How is this different from a VPS?
A VPS is a virtual server sharing physical hardware with other virtual machines — you get root access, but the host underneath is shared. A dedicated server is the whole physical machine. If your bottleneck is the hardware itself rather than the plan size, this is the step up.
Do I get root access?
Yes. Full root access to the machine, the same as on a VPS.
Can I install my own operating system?
Tell us which one when you ask for the quote and we will confirm it before you order. We deliberately do not publish an OS list here — a list that turns out to be wrong for the hardware you are actually quoted is worse than no list.
Do you offer server management, monitoring or a control panel?
Not something this page can state. What is or is not included depends on the build, so ask when you request the quote and we will put it in writing there rather than implying it here.
Can I upgrade the server later?
Changing a dedicated server means changing physical hardware, so it is not the one-click upgrade a VPS has. Open a ticket and we will tell you what can be added to the machine you have and what would need a move.
